Next week would be the final week of the semester..Exams would be coming soon, and with easter around the corner, plus all the work that needs to be followed up for the church renovations, it was a perfect ingredients for an emo session...
WHY ME???
Then i discovered, after hearing all the messages preached from the pulpit, after years of serving under the leaders of HSG, it was not easy to feel emo...
I mean definitely when we have so much to do, and when things don't seem to be going as it is, we will feel very "pek cek" and ask how come things are this way, but i realized that it was not easy to keep the dissapointed and helpless feeling. This is because that in our lives there is so much more to thank God for, rather than let the few small things that seem negative to pull your whole day down.
I have to admit, last week after looking through the things that has piled up and is waiting for my attention, and problems that we faced, i could hear the chorus of Simple Plan's song
"Untitled" - How could this happen to me...~~
Well i also realized that friends are important in thses kind of situations. I told a friend " I'm Emo..." then thank God for friends who say "RUUUN!" run away from those thoughts...run away from those feelings...coz they're stinkin thinking.
There is just so much more that those problems. I'm just so glad that i discovered...
On the subject of being emo it is with the choice...
To be..or not to be..

man how they have changed...
Just got back from an awesome camp last Wednesday. Pre-Mad camp.
I was not supposed to be there as i had class, but i was not able to pull myself away from the camp. It was not just the excitement of the feeling that something great was about to happen, but also...It was the people there.
For those who are familiar with the style of SE, pre-mad usually is held in church and well most of the time everything is well taken care of, which is a good thing because the committee is a bunch of young people with no experience in taking care of people younger than them, and most of the time they themselves are the people that we need to take care of.
After this camp, man i realized, all those "kids" have grown up.
Camp coordinator, Li-anne...
Used to remember her in sunday school not listening to the teacher, playing with her handphone, disturbing other people...now commanding ppl to "Listen and keep quite while poeple are up front talking ."
Sarah Loke
Remembered the first pre-youth camp when she said "How to do pumping...i cant la"
to the sarah that carried David's VOX amp all the way from the car park to chapel, and telling David "Hey i can do something you cant"
John Yong
Always branded as the trouble maker.. Still is :) but now a smarter one, and a more submissive one..and really fun to be around good transport arranger too...
Joseph Ng
Used to be the quiet little kid who floows his sisters around. Never looked like he would have friends, but now...one of the more prominent Worship Leaders, lead the saujana CF, and now also emceeing for games...(what happend to the quiet side??)
Garry
Also used to be just tagging around the sister...then now head of usher.
Timothy Liaw
From feeling lost from all the missed years from KL to knowing the direction to go..and a Very good and strict boy's coordinator :p
Oh well..since we're here talking about ppl..
David
Used to be the kid who plays too loud and too fast...to now...the musician who is going to berkley and plays with a metronome and tries to control his level. :)
Rachel
Remember the first mad camp in shalom villa..when i thought the onli thing she knew how to do was run...to becoming the HSG idol runner up
Razel
Changed from the girl with too much makeup, to the one who shines with natural beauty
Paul Lau
KT kampung boy who was bullied by younger ppl in church camp...to Prayer warrior for God
Ryan tan
From the young boy i prayed for hte first time when he was 11 years old...to a boy who didn't want to take over cf...to a young man who leads his own cf :)
Hannah Loke
From shy girl who doesnt talk(at least not to me) to service coordinator who orders me to do offering :p
Joseph Cheah
Little boy who likes to dance hawaiian dance...to young man who started cf...to young man who leads worhsip...to a young man who left a deep imprint in DP and HSG before going off to Australia
Tara Ong
From a little girl who says "jie i'm scared" to a young woman who's leading OCF :)
Elliot
From super Emo (no offence) to counsellor for emos :p
Nicki Lee
From a non chirstian with low self esteem to a christian who shares her testimony on stage and is able to pray over a congregation to bless the younger people
Ivan V
From first MAD (remember what happened :p) and gangsterish boy to a young man who's putting his knives to good use :)
Timothy Lau
From just wanting to serve as a drummer...to having a passion to minister to chinese speaking youths
Ben Soo
From a normal saujanian boy to a friendly minister in Laos (who still owes me a present :p)
Man...really proud of these people. Really glad to have you guys on board the SE flight :)
No matter where you are guys, what you're gonna do, where you're gonna go...

New Year??so soon?
Well time has come and gone so fast. I didn't realize that i had left my blog idle for 2 months. Time has flown by, since the last post. It seemed like the semester just ended, then it started again...but i did have much fun in between though. Fun times go by really fast dont they :)
Though it seemed to pass by real quick, had a great december :) started with comming back from the trip to perth feeling refreshed physically and spiritually, then the african christmas, then loud christmas then christmas itself then new year...it was really a month filled with so much activity and fun.
Then we started the year with Dr Naomi Dowdy's conference which was really a good start and now planing for the youth concert in feb. Its all really cool.
I'm really excited and looking forward to things this year. I really cant wait for the next day to come coz even though yea there is still the workload of studies and the ministry, i just know its gonna be great. and that things can only get better, not worse.
15 days into the new year, still excited, still looking forward and expecting good things.
Regardless of what the newspaper say, i believe that 2009 is going to be a GOOD year.
And that through the doom and gloom, there will definitely be a BLOOM..
Life's great isn't it :)
Chinese new year's comming and i'm definitely looking forward to it..hehe not only the ang pows, but also a time to spend with family and friends. (of course more to the ang pows hehe)
Looking forward to have a good year this year...

Something to be proud of
Well, my third post in a row...:p
Lots of people pass their daily lives doing video editing for their blogs or photo shop pictures for their blogs. They can be talented, but not having a professional certificate in that field often limits them to doing simple stuff.
Being connected to a church gives u a lot of opportunity to tap into your talents. Its not everyday you get to do video promotions for an event..
Had the opportunity of getting involved in the production of the following camp promo video. Its something that i am really proud of, not only of myself but the whole team, directors, videographer, video editor, and actors...
Really guys...u rock!!

Down memory lane...
Holiday time, din have much to do..so went thru my hard disk and found some really old photos...not really old..but its old enough..hehe its amazing how ppl change over few years span...Its a wonder how many photos can one get from one folder itslef i think its would be the span of years from my form 5 years to upper 6 years :)
Pangkor trip with form 5 classmates...haha that trip would be one of the memorable trips of my high school years :)

Could drive by then...so we often went to the mamak store nearby Uma rani to have a drink after class..I remember the milo ice that time was rm1.50 and maggi goreng was rm2 haha cheap food...the milo was always very 'kao' sometimes even saturated as lots of the milo power would be left unmelted..we would often wonder if it was coz the cup was not washed properly :p
These bunch of guys were the ones that often hung out with me after class..we went to Pangkor for a trip..yes Pangkor again...

Uncle Lim(not the dog..) also joins us for most mamak sessions...yes uncle...coz she always says she's not aunty..(lame..haha)
.jpg)
Usually after the mamak session we would proceed to visit Winnie and Tommy who would be waiting for us at Pua Kee's house...
Or we could go to Kepong to visit Jie Lun...

Occasionally we would have bbq's or gatherings.

I would usually be the odd one out coz all of them are senior high classmates from the arts stream classes..while i'm the only one from science stream. Why am i there? thanks to two buddies that i was quite close to in form 3....still enjoy hanging out a lot :)
At the time most of these pictures were taken, i was already driving to school...each morning would wake at 6am to be able to get to school on time...

When talking about school, can never leave out the form 6 bunch...we were all from different classes, all from different back ground...mixed together we became...a class that doesn't go out during recess and doesn't respeond in class ..hehe

Still we had fun times together....
Paddle boat at tasik titiwangsa...

Trip at Pangkor again...haha

Bbq at Vivien's house..

Then of course....we cant forget the How family sisters...whom at that time kinda became like family to me...(Sorry vincy dont have your picture..)

Then of course there's my own family...
Wasnt with them coz this pic was taken while Audrey went to Shanghai...
Then there were times where mom and tim came down during the summer..

Which meant heaps of sibling fun...

When it comes to talking about brothers and sisters...just can't leave our the spiritual ones as well :)

Looking through these pictures i have mixed feelings. Feeling nostalgic about the good times we had last time, wondering where have some of the people gone and wht they're doing now, and also feeling glad that some are still there ready to start new chapters in our lives...
Hey u guys who are reading this... glad you're still around... :)
Some of u need to contact me...haha

clearing the cobwebs...
Sorry guys..i know..i know...cobwebs all around :) haha
Lots have been going on, just that well i wanted to wait to get the videos of my performances to post here, but it seems..i keep forgetting to bring a hard disk to collect the videos. (yup after i lost my 8Gb thumb drive life has been miserable...)
Anyway...i just decided to get on with my posts since lots of u have been asking me to :)
So...yea my hols just started..and have been busy going around the past few days :)
Usually so busy with uni work and weekends with church, it was great having a rest...just that all of a sudden with nothing to do..it felt kinda weird...kind of like a ship going at full speed suddenly stops..it takes some time b4 u can really stop...so..i did pack my week full with activities..:)
Spent time with some high school friends, spent time with the SE leaders and all..it was really refreshing..
Ever felt too caught up with things till your whole life just revolves around doing things...assignments...duties...whatever those things are...Well I realized that was my life for the past few months...yes i do tend to like work a lot (gosh i'm a workaholic...) but fun is also a thing that should not be lacking from our lives..as was discussed in YA some time ago, recreation and rest are part of the 10 things in out lives that we should have :)
One thing i realized...is that the company you're with also determines the amount of fun you have. I do go to movies and sing k with my coursemates, but still, yesterday's dinner with at Su Chan Deli was one of the best times i had for a long time (no offence to my coursemates...).I agree with you totally Joseph..Its been a really long time since we had such fun as a group..we should do this more...some non competetive, pure fun time spending together... :)
Gosh too much to write....I started off wanting to post something of a totally different nature..but i guess i got carried away :) Guess you guys will just have to wait for my next post :p
Dont worry it'll be soon..i promise :)

back online haha
To all my blog readers, yes those whom discovered the "secret"...(-_-")
Sorry for not having posted anything lately...i kinda misplaced my camera....but now its found and yea will start to update it as frequent as possible. Sorry for this uninteresting post without pics :)
Much has happened since my last post...Well of course firstly, during the raya hols, had a day out with few close friends. Went to Zan Mai sushi, had a great time. The food was good, but... I guess i'm a chinese food person. Ordered a unagi udon, but ate onli the rice haha...weird huh?
Then we went bowling..its been 5 years since i last bowled so obviously lost het first match, ended up having dance the para para sakura machine next door (we were in Mid Valley btw)
It was quite a nice day, relaxing and all..realized how long i had not just went out and had fun with friends, usually with the other group, its just sing k, thats fun too, but its been so long since i went for a sports event (bowling's a sport right? hehe)
Same week, went for a basketball match :) time have changed....my batch, seems that everyone knows how to play basketball, or at least from my school. But this match, saw that so many of the ppl who are still in their teens seems to not have nich skill for the sport, maybe basketball is a "chinese school" sport, coz i realized most of those who could really paly and knew the rules were from chinese schools, the others were footballers who knew the basic rules and had the stamina. It was fun though :) results not too bad, for a team of 4 with two who didn't really know much about basketball, we got 3rd place (out of four hehe at least not last la)
On top of that had a great weekend...great sermons at least...not too great for the sound ppl...I think i would have a few years of my life cut off...coz of the problems...but it was still a good weekend session(s).
So much for last week...Today will be having a performance at uni. Haha yea din tell most of u guys coz...kinda had a miscommunication....for the whole things. in fact i omli knew the dress code for performers like yesterday 9pm haha so...well...anyways now i've got a blister on my finger and i broke a nail....i know comming from me it sounds weird..but as a classical guitarist, fingernails are quite important. So...lets pray for the best later :)
Just to inform my blog readers...we will be having an orchestra performance in UCSI on the 31st october 2008 8pm If you're interested la..
Will be back with pics of the performance :)
